How To Draw A Cartoon Octopus
How to Draw An Octopus with a beautiful smile
This sea animal is easy to create as seen on this lesson on how to draw an octopus! However, to create an adorable version of this fun animal, it might be a good idea to follow all steps described in this tutorial carefully. I'll show you how to use simple shapes to end up with a professional result in just minutes.
If you need a quick overview of all steps needed to draw this octopus, you can take a look at the last illustration on the bottom of this page. All steps needed to sketch this animal are available there.
Step 1
First, draw the body and head of the octopus using a long oval shape. If you take a look at the sample below, you will see that this shape is almost similar as the shape of an egg. Add two small tentacles below the body.
Step 2
Next, draw more tentacles using a shape similar to the one used to create the front tentacles. Basically, you need to draw curved lines and all shapes must be pointed towards the bottom.
Step 3
Great! You can now add the eyes using circles. Don't draw small eyes (we are drawing a cute character), but don't sketch large eyes either (since we need some room to add the mouth).
Step 4
Pupils are made from large circles. Take a look at the sample below to see the exact location of these new elements.
Step 5
We are almost done! Draw a large line below the eyes and draw two more oval shapes in the pupils to complete the desired effect.
Step 6
Nice work! As you can see, it's easy to draw an octopus using basic shapes if you know exactly how to create this fun cartoon character.
Here are all six steps needed to complete this drawing lesson. Thanks for your presence and don't hesitate to try more animals from the same series below! :)
